Eudoxus is located in the north, the most notable feature being the Eudoxus crater. A second smaller crater called Bürg is surrounded by the Lacus Mortis (Lake of Death). To the southwest lies the Mare Serenitatis (Sea of Serenity). In the center of the region is the Lacus Somniorum (Lake of Dreams) and to the southwest half of the Posidonius crater.

This region is named after the Greek astronomer and mathematician Eudoxus of Cnidus (400 BC). He created the astronomical globe and contributed to the knowledge of the movement of the planets.
