Cassini is located in the north, the most notable features being the Cassini and Aristillus craters. The region is located in the Mare Imbrium (Sea of Rains). To the north, there is a small range of mountains called the Montes Alpes. Being in a mare the region is relatively flat except the northwest, which borders on the northern highlands.
